The first quality that any individual needs to cultivate to go places in life is to be able to dream big and aim for the top. In Mehta this quality was inherent right from the day he set up the company in 1958 and envisioned its future. That was the time when the potential of Hindi films was yet to be tapped. Mehta started off from scratch with a very modest investment. he had no qualms about running errands for his office, even if it meant carrying prints from one place to another.

His ability to keep his head and not get swayed by disturbing trends in the market, has also helped him survive the odds when the market was going through difficult times. At one point, the sudden surge in business saw a new set of aggressive buyers, who started offering incredible prices and walked away with the deals. Mehta was unruffled by these new "fly-by-night" operators. Instead of trying to compete with them, he preferred to stick to the business principle of sound buying, that had seen him through over the years. He also continued with his resolve of taking up films for distribution only after ascertaining their potential in the market and not buying any under-production films. He made clear to producers his criteria for buying films- quality films at reasonable prices with a reasonable good cast. The ones who jumped into the bandwagon at that time, had to close down shops later. But Mehta remained unaffected.

During this period, he withstood the challenge on two business attributes dependability and business ethics, qualities in him that helped him build a steady relationship with some producers.

More recently, Mehta and his son, Mihir, were faced with another challenge when the invasion of the DVD market brought a steep drop in theatrical collections in U.K., U.S.A., Canada and Europe. The business dropped by 30 percent, with people making their own DVD theatres at home. Instead of brooding over the changing business scenario, the Mehtas reinvented the company's strategy and started focussing on affordable and intelligent star cast films, which could be commercially viable and good for the theatrical, CVD and DVD market. Currently, C.A. Corporation is also in the process of expanding his recording studio, which they set up recently. The studio has been upgraded with the latest equipment and technology to meet the increased standards of technology.
